Catalytic Membrane Reactor Applications
Media and Process Technology Inc has been actively involved in the development of catalytic membrane reactor for low temperature water gas shift (WGS) reaction. Both our carbon molecular sieve membranes and palladium membranes have been employed successfully to enhance the conversion of CO with concomitant production of hydrogen. The experimental result below demonstrates >99% CO conversion and >99.9% H2 purity (~50 ppm CO) at >83% hydrogen recovery by our WGS-MR (membrane reactor). In addition, Media and Process Technology Inc has developed both palladium and palladium/copper alloy membranes for high purity hydrogen recovery applications. The hydrogen permeance and selectivity are presented in the figure below.
